Country Consent Rates Across the EU

Gaining physician consent for data disclosure purposes under the EFPIA disclosure code is never easy. However, considering that the acquisition of consent is part of the law under the Directive 95/46/EC on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, this is something pharma companies in the EU cannot overlook. With HCP’s having the right to refuse giving consent for data disclosure, consent rates tend to vary across the EU.

Presented by Ned Mumtaz, Practice Leader Life Sciences, qordata, in a webinar titled ‘Do’s and Don’ts of Consent Management in EU’ along with Maite Vazquez Calo, here’s a visual that presents information about percentages of HCPs expected to grant their consents. On the one hand, we have the highest consent rates prevalent in Latvia (95%), whereas on the other hand, the lowest consent rates go down to a mere 20% in Spain. With Spain taking initiatives to improve consent, statistics such as these show how important it is for certain EU member countries to introduce new regulations to increase consent rates.
